The day Carlsberg turned All Red
Liverpool FC x Carlsberg
Teams wearing red win more. That was the view of legendary Liverpool FC manager Bill Shankly when he famously swapped his team’s white shorts and socks for red ones; a choice that still stands today, and has become iconic in world football.
To celebrate the historic move of Liverpool FC going all red as well as Carlsberg’s then 26 season partnership with the club (the longest in Premier League history), Carlsberg decided to brew an all red beer as a special treat for the loyal supporters of the Reds.
This tribute film takes place a year after Liverpool losing the Champions League final against Real Madrid and centers around the Liverpool mentality of “You'll Never Walk Alone”. We wanted to portray the essence – the unbreakable bond and spirit – of the club and the fans.
In the film, our lead (singer and notorious Liverpool fan, Jamie Webster) tenderly sings Oh when the Reds go marching in. We wanted to hone in on the sanctity of the original Oh when the saints go marching in to emphasise the reverence and importance the club holds in the heart of every member of the Liverpool FC family.
The film was shot in the Anfield suburb of Liverpool and in the red barley fields of northern France.

“Above all, I would like to be remembered as a man who was selfless, who strove and worried so that others could share the glory.”
